Italian Girl1989 3 Posted December 1, 2016 You know how they want us to strengthen our liver. I've been on a lot of pills that have not been the greatest to my liver. I know food changes help. But I was also thinking about to yogi tea or these Vitamins that help detox your liver and remove toxins. Any thoughts?
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted December 1, 2016 You can't detox your liver, it doesn't work that way. And you can't strengthen it, it isn't a muscle. The best things you can do for your liver are to avoid excessive alcohol and lose weight. Also, limit tylenol and don't do stuff that will give you hepatitis. Hazel_eyez 173 Posted December 1, 2016 I would also add.... no sugars (including fruit) or starches because that makes your liver produce insulin. If it can't push those extra sugars into your fat cells, then it creates fat cells on your liver and stores it there.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted December 1, 2016 @@Bufflehead is right. Also the purpose of a liver is to detox you, so you can't detox it. Just live healthy. All these products are just snake oil trying to sell people quick fixes when the only real fix is living right.

Italian Girl1989 3 Posted December 1, 2016 I am doing a cleanse. Its only 2 weeks. Plus I'm going to my doctor because I'm on a pill that increases your hunger, like actually makes your stomach growl. It doesn't help that during the day ill eat one meal. That's where my eating disorder comes in I eat one small meal. And then binge at night. But I do think if I get taken off the pill it won't be so bad.
