Hi I was 406 at my first weigh-in in late June. 372 on surgery day on September 6th. 285.1 yesterday morning. I have stuck with diet and not cheating.

I was 481 when I started in June of this year. On B-Day (bariatric operation day), Oct 11, I was 414. Today as I sit here typing, I am 372. All has gone very well for me.

I had my first consult this time last year at 442lbs (BMI of 76). Had sleeve surgery in June at a weight of 364lbs BMI~66). Today I'm 282lbs. It takes work but it has been amazing! My overall health is better than it has been in decades!

I started my journey (with my PCP appointment for referral on February 2) at 397 pounds. At my first of six appointments with the surgeon's staff (March 3), I weighed 392 pounds. I lost 99 pounds during my six month pre-op diet program, and weighed 298 pounds on the day of surgery (September 28). Today (Day 64 post-op), I weighed 259 pounds.

It is an amazing journey, and if you commit yourself to it fully, you will be successful.

Good luck!

That's pretty awesome. Especially losing that much weight before surgery.

The pre-op diet was the best thing that ever happened to me. I am convinced that it is largely responsible for the easy time I had during surgery, my near seamless recovery, and my continued success post-op. I re-established with my relationship with food long before the surgery, so I didn't have to do that as I was healing and generally felt yucky in the days and weeks right after the procedure. I would never have had the mindset I had on surgery day had I not lost all of that pre-op weight, and when that first stall hit at week 3 post-op, it was MUCH easier to handle having lost 120 pounds rather than just 20 pounds!!

Yeah that is pretty awesome. I followed my doctor's pre-op orders to the Sea as I wanted my healing time to be minimum and he was quite clear that following it it would make it easier. So I went from 406 to 372 in late June hand surgery was September 6th. Sounds like you got a great attitude. And I know I feel so much better.

Wow my insurance stipulated that I could not gain any weight after initial weigh-in I didn't have to lose but I could not gain or they said it would show I didn't have commitment to losing weight

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
