I'm going to Kaiser Richmond too. My orientation was 2 weeks ago & I just had my first appointment this morning with Dr. Mostaedi. He is awesome! I have to wait till January 3rd to see Dr. Z (I'm a little nervous about that appointment).

So far everyone there has been so nice to me. Even this morning when I was a nervous wreck before my appointment the woman that was taking my vitals and weight was doing her best to try and help me chill out.

I'm hoping for surgery mid-february. I already met my goal weight so it's pretty much my choice on how long this whole process takes.

@@tamirn the process moves so fast if you do your part. Orientation to surgery was 2 months for my hubs and I'm 2.5 months and could be sooner.

@@shaylady08 that's crazy when We told

Liz we weren't sure about getting the time of work she made it seem like with the drs note we had to get the time off.

@@bubbz333 Dr Z was cool too. Don't be nervous. You might be able to get in sooner if you call for cancellations.

I have Dr Baggs too and like him.

Liz wasn't bad either. I was nice and was sure to know my stuff and she was pleasant and even joked around.

Bummer @@shaylady08! I'm hoping for Feb so that I don't have to cancel patients. I've been working for a few years so I have lots of ESL to use.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
