The New Kel 1,312 Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Just wondering how my fellow October sleevers are doing. Mine was Oct 3rd so I am just over 8 weeks out. I'm doing well and feeling really good. My only issue is that eating is a challenge. I am supposed to be on "regular foods" but find myself defaulting to soft foods all day. meat is really hard to tolerate now. I love steak and I had tried it two weeks ago and it was amazing. I tried it last night and it came back up. I am rarely hungry anymore. I kinda miss normal food in general. I have to remind myself to drink my fluids. I have been bad about that! I have been drinking coffee in the morning, because coffee is life, lol. I love going into stores and seeing what sizes fit. I started at a 20 and now am comfortable in a 14, and I have my sights set on that 12 for Chistmas My husband is flattering the hell out of me lately. Always telling me how slim I am getting. Of course he is exaggerating but I'll take it :-) How is everyone else doing? Holiday concerns? Success? MowryRocks 679 Posted November 30, 2016 I was sleeved 10/26. I'm down 50lbs total and generally loving life. Steak? Jealous. My surgery group won't allow it for 6 months post. I can't even have ground meat until next week, but I promise you that will be the most highly anticipated ground meat I have EVER eaten. LOL. I have gone from a 26/28 to a 18/20 top and a 24 bottom. Everyone notices. My energy level is WAAAY up. I'm doing my first post surgery 5k on 12/11/2016, hoping to run some. (Hoping). Thanksgiving was a breeze compared to how I built it up in my head. My requirements will lax a bit more before Christmas, so I know it will be fine as well. I had to get anal about my fluids after a surgery buddy was hospitalized with dehydration. I now try to have 32oz before lunch. Good Luck!

At this point I only run when chased, but I aspire to get into running shape!
RNMomof4 86 Posted November 30, 2016 Hello! I was sleeved 10/25 and feeling great! I have been blessed with a very easy recovery and have had no issues advancing diet. I am shopping in my closet and found two "new" pair of jeans recently. Can't wait to go shopping tomorrow for an outfit for Christmas parties this weekend. Thanksgiving was easier than I thought. Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy made a great meal and I did not miss Desserts. I will admit I missed eating a warm homemade roll with butter but I got over it . Hope everyone else is doing well! simpsongrad 85 Posted November 30, 2016 So glad you posted this. I was sleeved on the 25th of October and have been feeling a little like I am not doing as well as I could be. My surgery weight was 242 and am now at 222 so right in line with others who were similar to me. I hit a stall right away for two weeks after surgery, lost another six pounds and now feel like I am in another stall! So frustrating! I have had no issues on advancing food and have had no problems getting in my fluids. I am down a couple sizes going from 18w to 14/16. I was in pretty good shape before I started so my walking doesn't seem as good for my cardio. I go back to my surgeon on Friday and am looking forward to being cleared for regular workouts. Thanksgiving was a little hard and it is getting worse since my work loves to have food days and treats around all the time. So far I am staying strong but i know it will get worse the closer we get to Christmas. Great job everyone on how well you are doing! Looking forward to getting the updates! ella37 455 Posted November 30, 2016 I was 10/11. So far so good! The first month was rough, not gonna lie, but it gets easier every day. I've just moved to normal foods as of last week and so far no issues. I've lost 30 lbs since my 1 week pre op appointment and 25 since surgery. I'm a little jealous of the people who have lost 40 or 50 lbs already but I know everyone is different. I'm about to go out to lunch with my husband and looking forward to some chicken and Beans. I'm happy to hear Thanksgiving went good for you. Like you, I did pretty good, but DANG did I miss the rolls too! But I satisfied my carbo craving with a few pieces of Chex mix. Naughty food but only had a few. And ohhh were they good.

Stalls are frustrating but since you are losing sizes you can see your body is changing! I have gone through a couple stall already and what I find is when they are over I have lost a few inches. Great feeling. My work is the same when I do go into the office. We have a Christmas party coming and a potluck in two weeks. I will take it as a challenge to make something healthy, hearty, and yummy!
Daniella5 33 Posted November 30, 2016 I love to hear successful stories like yours. The only issue I'm having...(sleeved 10.27) is that is so hard to swallow meat. It hurts when it goes down. After goes down its fine.. I'm a little worried. I miss good food. This is more like a mentally challenge now. But it does hurt alot.... any one with the same issue? I try not to compare my weight loss with the pace of others but I know how you feel. Sounds like you are doing great though! Going out to restaurants for me is fun but a bit frustrating. Everything always looks so good, but I can literally still only eat maybe two bites. My husband is enjoying having most of my plate, lol.

Sent from my SM-G920T1 using the BariatricPal App Yes, I have the same issues with meat. Unfortunately it has gotten worse now than it was a month ago. I sort of avoid meat, I wish it was easier. I used to love red meat, now I am struggling with it. I struggle with chicken and fish if overcooked also. Cottage cheese seems to be my saving grace these days. LittleBill 2,231 Posted November 30, 2016 I had my operation on 10/11 - Yom Kippur. I called it my own personal day of atonement. Things are going very well, way better than I expected. Since I began the program the first week of June this year, to today, I am down 109 lbs. I am back to eating regular food. I had no complications and no side effects worth mentioning. I figure I pegged the needle on the Good Things scale, and am very grateful for that. It is hard to say if I have more energy yet. I am pretty sure I do. My wife says I do. But, I keep pushing with more and more exercise, etc, so I am pretty well whupped by the end of the day.
