TAJ718 17 Posted November 30, 2016 Wow... have you tried calling your doc or maybe the nutritionist? They for sure would have some words of wisdom for you!?
RJC5197 282 Posted November 30, 2016 Do not stress the scale if you are following the program. Our bodies are going thru a lot and Water gain and loss can be big swings. Best to not weigh more than 1 time a week or less at this time, and go by how you feel. Most times you will be getting smaller, even though the scale is not showing it. Get ready mentally now for slow downs, stalls and other parts of the journey. In the long run if we follow what we are to do, we will reach our goals. Good luck
James Marusek 5,244 Posted November 30, 2016 You are 1 month out from surgery and you are showing a weight loss of 57.8 pounds. How much of that is pre-op?

catwoman7 11,221 Posted November 30, 2016 if you've lost 23 since surgery, then you are doing fine. If you're following your program, that 4 lb gain could possibly have come from Water retention (sodium) or Constipation. I wouldn't worry about it yet. It may be gone in a couple of days. BrookeTiffani 54 Posted November 30, 2016 You are 1 month out from surgery and you are showing a weight loss of 57.8 pounds. How much of that is pre-op? I lost about 35 pre-op. & @@catwoman7 I am hoping it is just Water retention. It is nearly that time of the month and I surely don't FEEL bloated. In fact, I felt like I had lost some more and one of the shirts i wear fairly often and am familiar with feeling tight has felt even looser than it had been around my lower belly area. So I thought I would have surely lost some. I do hear that you can lose inches and not lbs though. I hope that is what is going on.

James Marusek 5,244 Posted November 30, 2016 It is common to hit stalls along the way. So just keep meeting the program requirements, be patient and watch the pounds melt away.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted November 30, 2016 I gain 3lbs with every period. And guess what, for the past year I have had 2 periods a month. So I gain Water weight them drop it. When I was over 300lbs gaining weight with my period was nothing and I also never weighed myself before like I do now. Now I know that my weight fluctuates with my period and bowel movements. I don't stress about my weight. Also at 4 weeks this is normal. If you can't get used to the idea that your weight fluctuates then stop weighing yourself. Intellectually, I knew that weight flucuated. It took me weighing myself almost daily for the past 16 months to emotionally accept it.

I am hoping that is what it is. that I was just at a stall and now I am 4 lbs heavier because I haven't started yet. He just cleared me for exercise today (i have been walking already) so I am going to work on getting a membership this week and honestly throwing away my scale because it is way off anyways. & I have had tendencies in the past to get addicted to weighing and the numbers aspect.
