Well, I left work at about 1 and drove myself to the ER with horrible chest pain and shortness is breath. They took blood a few time, a few EKGs, a cat scan (I have history of blood clots so they wanted to rule that out). They said my labs came back with abnormal white blood count so thy did an ultrasound to check my gallbladder and kidney. I heard gallbladder is a thing after this surgery. What are your experiences? I'm currently waiting in the ER now for my ultrasound results.

I have this constant pain in my right upper quadrant, was going to ask my md if we should pursue it before it becomes an issue. I hear it's very common for issues after wls. Any news? How are you feeling?

It is my understanding that rapid weightloss can trigger gallbladder issues, but not necessarily related to surgery. And many people have gallbladder problems that have nothing to do with losing weight.

Hope you feel better soon.

So the ER doctor said that I have gallstones. He said it's not urgent that I have surgery though. I just am afraid that I'll have another attack

I'm so sorry to hear this. Hang in there. I'm just curious, we're you taking the Ursodoil after surgery to help prevent gall stones? My surgeon has me on it and I am just wondering how effective it is. Keep us posted on how you feel.

Glad you know now. Hopefully your surgeon can provide some guidance to help prevent another attack.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
