crut77 3 Posted November 30, 2016 So heading into the real foods. I know what my daily Water and Protein intake should be. What are the numbers to not go over for carbs and sugar. I have tons of info from my Dr but can't quite find the answer to that question. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted November 30, 2016 I did not have to count sugar as I never had any blood sugar problems, but had to stay under 60 grams of carbs per day during weight loss phase. Many programs do things differently though -- there is no one answer to your question. Since your guidelines are not clear, you will probably want to call your team for their advice. Good luck! Isalithe 44 Posted November 30, 2016 To give you an idea of how wildly it varies, I'm only allowed 30g of carbs a day.

Aggiemae 739 Posted November 30, 2016 My plan allows a 2:1 ratio between Protein and carbs. Low calorie carbs like veggies and fruit are recommended on the weight lose phase. Later whole grains and higher calorie foods can be added. Cake, Cookies and pie are not con the list at any stage.
lmart133 68 Posted November 30, 2016 You should not be eating anything with more than 9 grams of sugar at one sitting..this will avoid you from getting sick... Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
amethyst391 18 Posted November 30, 2016 Avoid high sugar foods like dessert. First hand experience today. I caved in and took a few bites of pie that my husband had around. I immediately felt nauseous and threw up. Lesson learned. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
