Apple Watch or Fitbit

Recommended Posts

I have never had a Fitbit but I do have an Apple Watch that I've worn everyday since last Christmas.

I find the Apple Watch to be very helpful with keeping me on track with timing food and drink (you know the whole 30 min before and after eating drink restriction).

I also find it motivational to see my activity tracker - which I have right on the face.

That being said it's a really expensive item to use as a timer/activity tracker. Much as I like it - I'd have never spent this kind of money with the variety of less expensive options out there.

@@kblanc you should get a hold of fitbit customer service, they are fantastic. My friend accidentally washed her fitbit one, and they sent her a new one even though it was her fault. I would go with them for the customer service alone.

I had a Fitbit Flex (the original one, not the newest version.) I liked it fine, but switched to an Apple watch which I love. I'm also a big nerd and use it as more than a standard watch and fitness tracker, though. I'd say if you're not likely to use any apps on the watch, Fitbit is a much better deal.

If Fitbit is your choice I suggest spending the extra money for the warrantee. I love my Fitbit but as we know life happens for example getting in the shower and forgetting you have it on or simply it stops working.

My husband got mine at Best Buy and I've already replaced it 3 times in 2 years no questions asked.

I just got the Fitbit blaze and it's awesome I highly recommend it. I'm 3 months out and I've had awesome success but haven't been working out like I should. This watch motivated me so much more. I literally got out of bed last night because I wanted to hit my award goal for the day

I have a Fitbit Alta. I charge it like once a week... and it gives me all the info I need on my wrist.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
