Hello again folks! Day 13 almost in!

Recommended Posts

Just me again Im just at the end of my day 13 post surgery and had a few not so good days. I think I tried to move on a little too fast and tried foods that weren't liquid enough for me. I was feeling so good and wasn't nauseous or in any kind of pain to talk of so I thought I would try some fish pie. How silly of me! It was either too rich as I put some cheese in the sauce or it was just a little too thick.Anyway next day was spent mostly on the loo! I've gone back to Soup and my tummy has settled. I can't believe how full I feel after just a couple of mouthfuls too. I am losing weight too 10kgs since my surgery 15th Nov and I can really see it myself now!

The only thing I am struggling with is getting exercise in I feel quite weak still possibly as I'm not used to doing any at all and also as I am tiring easily because of the food intake. However I did go for a short walk today so I'm chuffed with myself. Onwards and shrinking - bring it on!!

Have a great week folks and hang in there!

First of all congratulations on the surgery! Secondly, just go with what your body is telling you. It might be that a short walk is all you can do right now. You have been through a huge change and you are bound to feel weak especially if you did a 2 week liver cleanse. Glad you are feeling better by getting back on the Soups.

Sounds as if you will be very sucessfull.

Kate

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
