Losing TOO much weight

Recommended Posts

Eat bacon? Jk sort of! Are you considered underweight now? If not, your body might just want to be smaller.

I had my surgery in January and now I'm approximately 8 lbs under my goal weight and am not crazy about having lost too much. I'm on 70 grams of Protein a day and getting in Water but not the full amount.

Any suggestions on how to gain back ten lbs?

If you dont mind me asking how are you getting 70 gm of Protein? What are you eating?

What are your stats? The reason I ask is your body might simple be adjusting to a comfortable weight. In addition to that, there is typically 10 to 15% regain that is typical.

There are many mass gain shakes that have everything in them but no fat or sugar.

Question is do you want to pick up weight? If yes I'm positive there are many ways to boost your calorie intake. Contact your dietician if you feel unsure

I get 70 grams of Protein with shakes regular food and bars.

I think I am underweight. I only had 35-40 to lose. Now I dropped that and more. When does the regain start?

I'm a couple pounds less than in my thirties and I'm in my fifties.

Maybe build up some more muscle as well. Muscle weighs more than fat.

Hey everyone. Please I need a serious help????

I'm 6 weeks post op and I only loose 18 pound like 3 weeks after surgery, since then I haven't lost anything and just last week's my scale said I gain 2 pound back. I'm so scared and nervous that this will work for me. I'm doing everything by the book, going to the gym , I walk or run 5 miles within an hour 4-5 times a week. The only thing I noticed I do different is, I can not tolerate all my 64 Oz of Water but I do get like 24 Oz in or more. Pls help me if u have an idear what I need to do different.

The best I can suggest is see your dr/dietician.

Or a quick way of checking is calculate your BMI which can be found on the net ...it's a good indicator if you are considered to be underweight.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
