zalina 31 Posted November 28, 2016 I did my surgery on 11/16, still on the liquid diet. I was losing 1-2 pound a day and so far lost 19 pounds. Couple days I am not losing anything. Did anyone experienced the same? Is that normal? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
_Kate_ 2,224 Posted November 28, 2016 Yes its normal. Try staying off the scales for a few days and see how you are then. I know its hard initially and we want to weigh everyday to see the numbers going down but as long as you are keeping to the plan it'll come off. Maybe just not every day! 19llbs in 11 days is amazing, focus on that and be kind to yourself. Congratulations on the surgery Kate

itsallido 46 Posted November 28, 2016 Yes I experienced the same thing. Actually didn't loose any weight for 9 days, but I continued following my plan and concentrated on getting in all of my daily Protein, fluids and minimum calories and on day 10 things began moving again. Very normal. Sent from my VS986 using the BariatricPal App
mylighthouse 782 Posted November 28, 2016 Hello Yes, I am experiencing the same thing. My surgery was 11-14 and I have lost 15 pounds. The past few days, I haven't lost much of anything whereas before, I was losing 1-2 lbs. a day. Glad to know that this is normal, and I will try to stay off the scales for a couple of days. Good luck to you
BigDog Bryan 262 Posted November 28, 2016 DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF EVERY DAY!!!!!!! The progress you make happens much faster that you were expecting, but it also does not happen at a constant rate. Your weight loss is more like the growth spurts of puberty - dramatic changes over time, but almost unnoticed from day to day. If you want to know what is happening, go clothes shopping every 4-6 weeks. The changes as you shrink will be VERY apparent since your sizes will change just about every time!! The only thing I noticed I do different is, I can not tolerate all my 64 Oz of Water but I do get like 24 Oz in or more. Pls help me if u have an idear what I need to do different. Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App When you first lose weight you lose lots of Fluid. You need that Fluid so after your body figures out that you aren't having an emergency, it readjust. If you are following your diet plan you are losing FAT no matter what the scale says. I lost 20 pounds in the first three weeks, then gained some on the scale but yesterday my weight started dropping again. Expect your weight loss to be like stairs not like a slide. zalina 31 Posted November 29, 2016 It might be that your body retains Water and those couple pound most likely the Water. You have to drink 6-8 glasses of water and your weight should go down little by little. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
