Almost 3 months out and loving my sleeve

Recommended Posts

I have the same issue at times. It's still a mental challenge but it does get better. I've learned to only place very small amounts on my plate now and stop as soon as I feel full. I would like to learn how to stop before the full feeling but I'm not there yet. I put my fork down between bites and look around, chew, think about my new body, then go back to it lol. I'm trying to make food less of a priority. It's hard girl but we will both get there.

I was sleeved 11/12/16.

Thanks and I believe we will! It's just harder to do than say. I'm still trying to learn when I'm full before I get the feeling and having a big glob of spit

I can definitely relate.

I am struggling with eating slowly... I have always been a fast eater and now I am trying not to be.

I am also struggling with making sure there is a full 30 minutes between eating and drinking... the struggle is real!!!

You look fantastic and I am super proud of how far we both have come!

Keep it up! you are doing great!

Thanks bre!!!!! We both will be some healthy thin mints real soon lol

My biggest struggle is also the drinking waiting after I eat to drink is so hard. Sometimes when I eat things I worry that I'm stretching my stomach but I don't know if it's just me being paranoid

I guess this ex pains why we have the psychological evaluation as well bc it's a lot of mental requirements

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
