Has anybody had a tummy tuck BEFORE their weight loss surgery?

Recommended Posts

3 years ago I had a Tummy Tuck and breast augmentation. The mommy make-over to speak, however, now I am considering gastric sleeve to help with weight loss. I'm 5ft9in and just about 247. Not too bad, however, I struggle with type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea. I'm wondering how my previous tummy tuck will effect me getting this surgery? Has anybody done this completely backwards like I am... ugh.. I wish I had known I could have qualified for the WLS years ago when I went through the tummy tuck...I would have done this first but because my BMI has always been borderline I had no idea I would qualify because the comorbidities.

Hi, I had a Tummy Tuck back in 2006 re-do in 2007 and just completed the sleeve on 11/22. So far I haven't had any problems. I was border line diabetes & sleep apnea. Please keep in touch I'll let you know if any changes. But so far so good. Good Luck

Yes, I had mine in 2009. My Surgeon says it can make things slightly more difficult, if there are adhesions or anything. In 2014 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I have had 14 reconstruction surgeries. (getting new boobs is NOT a benefit of breast cancer!!) I have had to have lots of procedures to release scar tissue in my chest and arms because I have cording. Then in Feb 2 years ago i had my ovaries removed via my new belly button. Not only did they wreck my new belly button, but I have a big hernia there now too. My sleeve surgeon said I can come back 6 months after sleeve and he'll fix the hernia.

I know @@JamieLogical had one before her surgery, too. Let's see if she chimes in. I also know that her stomach looks A-MAZ-ING at goal weight!

Yeah my surgeon doesn't seem worried and said I may have less issues with loose skin since it's already pretty tight

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
