_Kate_ 2,224 Posted November 24, 2016 I met with four surgeons over the past few months and finally chose who I wanted to do my surgery. It has been booked for a couple of weeks now but today I had all the paperwork through the post and opening it made it feel all so much more real. Having the WLS didn't bother me at all. This is a lot more and I have to admit to being a little (okay a LOT) scared. I am having an extended TT, extended BL and upper/lower eyelid surgery. Later in the year I will be having an inner thigh lift. My last son was 13llb's at birth and I ended up having an emergency section and can remember clearly how I felt walking and Im sure this will be a lot worse. What did you do to prepare? Did you buy anything special to have at home for afterwards? Are there any books you could recommend reading? Any Tips, stories or 'I found this helpful' would be gratefully received!! KristenVSG2014 1,872 Posted November 25, 2016 I had some single-serve Soups in the freezer and bought a lot of Premier Protein, Greek yogurt and cottage cheese for easy sources of Protein. I also got 100% cotton panties and a mumu to wear. I bought gauze, pads and paper tape. My grandma brought a walker which helped a lot the first two days. ausmith 374 Posted November 25, 2016 Hi if you can hire a recliner it will make all of the difference. You will sleep in it for at least 2 weeks. I had my surgery overseas and stayed in an apartment so I couldn't get one so I purchased a wedge cushion system that elevates your back and knees. It fit on TOP of the lounge during the day and then my husband moved it to the bed of a night. I used it for 6 weeks and it was the one thing I would never be without if I had to go through with the surgery again. Spiceyfrog 269 Posted January 1, 2017 Hello there - I am only four days post op, but at this point the reclining lift chair, toilet seat riser and lanyard have been lifesavers. I had a hernia repair, Tummy Tuck and inner thigh lift. The incisions from my thigh lift go around the back of my leg, under my butt, so at this point it's hard for me to sit on nearly anything. I literally hold myself up on the handles of the toilet sear riser. My only other recommendations would be to stay on top of your pain medication. Best of luck to you! Hi @@Spiceyfrog is this the so-called spiral thigh lift? May I ask how you settled on this procedure over other options, and also do you have a sense of the initial results thus far?
