Still Shrinking!

Recommended Posts

Today I finally noticed another change.

After 6-8 weeks bouncing around the same weight, my longest stall so far, I put my pretty watch on, and it was super loose around my wrist.

In my fat days, I could barely do its Bracelet up, and it was digging into my skin.

Today, it was half way up towards my elbow ..... :)

And I lost a full shoe size!

Even though my (I'm not happy with you right now) scales haven't budged much, obviously I am losing inches/centimetres ....

Yay for small NSVs !

8 months post op, and I am well past my honeymoon phase, and I am so grateful for any improvements.

Everyday is a honeymoon for me! Oh, wait, you are talking about weight loss. Those nsv's honestly mean more to me than the scale.

That's a great life! Everyday a honeymoon ...... Good for you!

Yes, NSVs do happen, and I need to pay more attention to them, instead of the scales.

Today was a surprise for me as I did not expect that :)

Long live NSVs!

That's great, Ozroo! I hope you can resize your pretty Bracelet so you won't accidently lose it. Ahhh, time for new shoes for you. :D Congratz on your NSVs!

Hi,

I presume you had your surgery in June 2016 ?

I don't know the answer to your question, sorry.

For me, after 6 months my weight loss started to slow down. At 6 months, the stomach is fully healed, hunger can come back with the ability to eat more.

I still weigh and measure my portions, until I reach my goal, whenever this may be.

I was also in the lower starting BMI range (37.1), and the lower BMIs seem to be losing bit slower than higher BMIs.

Other factors that slowed my weight-loss were few episodes of falling off the wagon, such as eating ice-cream and frozen yoghurt, having too many carbs such as Water melon, and eating late at night.

The late night eating was due to my insomnia caused by my Thyroid disease. If I had my dinner at 8pm, and was still awake at 3-4 am, then I got hungry, and had to eat something.

I am sleeping much better now, thank goodness!

My reboot is slow but is starting to kick in.

I have mainly all Protein meals, I supplement more with Protein powders in my yoghurt and coffee. I don't like the shakes.

I stepped up my exercise.

I suggest talking with your Dietician/Nut, perhaps even your surgeon.

Do you track your food and drinks?

I use MFP, My Fitness Pal

Are you on any weight causing medications, such as steroids, anti-depressants, mood stabilisers, etc ?

How much protein do you consume per day?

Are you drinking enough Water?

Are you exercising?

Do you eat unhealthy carbs?

How big are your meal portions?

Were you lower BMI ?

All of the above may influence the weight loss. There are probably more factors, but the above ones I can think of right now.

I feel there should be a forum for Us in the Middle, not Newbies and not Veterans either, just the In-

Betweens.

Good luck and best wishes!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
