I recently discovered Choco Perfection mini Dark European chocolate bars. Each mini bar is sugar free, has 39 calories, 1g net carb, 3g Fiber and is gluten free. I love that I can have something small and portioned controlled during the holidays.

@@Treadmillwalker, that sounds good. How are you liking your new band? Haven't heard many people getting that surgery. Is it less invasive than sleeve?

I love my band. Yes, less invasive. All surgeries have the possibility of complications. In my opinion those rest on the skill of the surgeon and compliance of the patient. I went through 6 months of classes pre-surgery per insurance requirement. I worked closely with the bariatric nurse and dietician to learn about the WLS options. I chose lapband as it is adjustable and we believe I will be successful with it. It is a tool o help me in my journey. I still have to eat less, exercise more--the same as sleeve and bypass. My weightloss may be slower, but the three year average is the same for all the surgeries per my surgeon.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
