My surgery was 10/31 and I still struggle to get my Water and Protein shakes in. I don't understand how people are already eating a couple of weeks out, I really have no room for that. I do 2 Premier Protein Shakes to get my 60 grams a Protein but it takes me like an hour to get each one down. That plus my Water and I may have room for half a yogurt or a few spoonfuls of cream Soup each day and they is it.

My surgeon says that is the way it is for the first 5 or 6 weeks, we are swollen inside.

But like I said a lot of people seem to be eating and drinking a lot more really soon out.

Yes, the swelling will go down and things will loosen up and it will get easier to eat by a couple of months out. By 6 months most people feel like they can eat too much if they don't watch it.

Concentrate on getting your water and protein in, my surgeon says anything else is "practice eating" for a couple of months.

The first 3 weeks at home was hard for me. Extremely hard. Try to keep in mind what your surgeon said. It will get better in time for sure. It is tough in the beginning however the first thing you want to do is to keep yourself hydrated. Drinking your Protein and Water is more than enough for now. Trust me. If you can't get to your Protein goal each day, be sure to hit your Fluid goals for sure. Oh I forgot to mention, I had the gastric sleeve done May 27th, 2016 I'm down 100lbs even at the moment.

Just got sleeves 11/23. Back home now. Feeling bloated and unable to drink all the required liquid. I'm told it gets better with time.

Congrats. It does get better. I was sleeved 11/18 & am getting more in, but with the gas they injected in my body, bloating & gasiness lasts for a week or more. Hang in there.

It's don't rush the fluids you will get there, do not rush!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
