amandarcp78 6 Posted November 26, 2016 Today I am 4 days post-op and still in disbelief this is my life. I am so thirsty, and I can't just go to the sink and drink a large glass of ice Water. That is not my life. I can't eat a piece of that pie leftover from Thanksgiving. That is not my life. I am drinking coffee with sugarfree Creamer (pumpkin pie) and taking 8 pills - we'll call that Breakfast. Not really. Seriously I have to eat some food or these pills are going to hurt by the time I'm done...and they take well over an hour to take spaced apart enough. I made potato Soup and blended it to make it a cream Soup. I'm going to eat that or Tomato Soup (til I get cleared on Tuesday). I'm not in much pain. Like a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Mostly it's back and shoulder pain, and I wonder if that's because of laying on my back too much. sjohn185 25 Posted November 29, 2016 My best friend was sugar free popsicles they saved me from being dehydrated! I had so much trouble getting the 'sipping' tying down.. I started using the tiny coffee stirrer straws and I'm doing good drinking now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Martha Parker-mcneal 166 Posted November 29, 2016 you might want to check with your support team or dr about using the straws -even the tiny ones. we were told to not drink from straws as they add air and that increases the gas and stomach pain. good luck
genn 460 Posted November 29, 2016 It's amazing how much we are not centered around food anymore. I sat there last night watching my husband eat dinner I made then an ice cream sandwich then party mix then beef Jerky then another ice cream sandwich and I'm like wow I would have usually ate something every time he did. His metabolism is a lot better then mine and he doesn't really put on the weight. He has a gut that's it. But it just really makes u think about how much my life re was centered around food. Lots of luck to you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
