This may sound bad

Recommended Posts

This may sound bad, but I am not as excited as I was when I was scheduled for November 21st. They rescheduled me for December 27th and I'm just like blah, frustrating how everything is seriously in someone else's hands and at the drop of a dime they can snatch it away or reschedule. Anyways that's just my bratty rant.

Maybe it's a Blessing to have it in Dec. My surgery was suppose to be last month too and rescheduled for Dec 7. In a way I think I needed more time to prepare myself. Good luck

I don't know if that sounds good, bad or neutral. It's just the way you're feeling. After the discussion of your feeling your PCP had lied to you, you posted about things working out to your advantage, which I hadn't noticed before just now. Your going back and forth and back again makes me think you can make good use of this extra month by sorting out your thoughts and emotions. If you disagree again, that's okay.

In the meantime, dance it out.

Thank you I was just so prepared for Monday I've been on this journey for almost a year now so it was really exciting when I went through all the hoops and jumps to get approved and then I was so set but I am going to Cali to see my family for 16 days so it's exciting and will make time go by faster.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
