Venting here! I had me surgery 9/20/16 HW:240 SW:226 CW:204.6 and I have been working hard to follow the rules. I feel I'm strong and with the sleeve in place I would say I'm doing good. I'm a slow loser but that's ok. With that being said a young lady that I know had the sleeve about a month before me. She eats everything. chips, bread and all. She says she is done losing weight and she is trying not to lose anymore. It really bugs me when if I don't drink enough Water my weight is stalling. How many people are losing too much weight?

Vent away!

Couple of things to think about, though. First and foremost, you've lost 22 pounds in two months. That not a slow loss at all, especially with a pre-surgical loss of 14 pounds! I'd say you are clipping right along at a healthy rate.

Second, you are relearning good healthy habits. Your "friend" is still in a honeymoon stage where she is going to lose pretty much no matter what because of her restriction, but her habits lead me to believe that she will be a victim of regain quickly.

This surgery is a great tool for restriction and gives you an excellent platform to change your habits and your mindset about eating. If one doesn't choose to do that, there is a good possibility they will fail their sleeve by eating around it.

Don't worry about her. You do you. :)

She had surgery a month ahead of you, so three months ago if I'm reading correctly. And she says she's lost all the weight she wants/needs to lose? Wow! That seems crazy to me. Good for her, I guess. However, I am like almost everyone else who replied and feel she may be in for an unpleasant surprise in a few months.

Keep up your good work and you will reap the rewards!

I think your venting about me. I'm craving salt I think. I eat 5 bites and I'm full. Sick of Protein shakes. Seems like chips go down easy and satisfy the crunch factor. I have celiac so bread is off the table. I'm 20lbs away from goal. Surgery 6/30 my night snack is ice pops. I can't do dairy either.

Hi sleeve twin...I was the 20th September too :)

It's not about the losses just now, but a year and a half down the line she will start to regain the weight while you, with your changed habits will keep it off.

Keep that in mind when she 'shows off' about eating all the crap that got her fat first time round...it will do the same again, she just doesn't realise it yet.

I am having MASSIVE stalls, but losing inches. Dig out your tape measure! Xx

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
