MowryRocks 679 Posted November 22, 2016 I personally chose the sleeve because I know several people who had full bypass and had many many health issues afterwards. The sleeve is a restrictive process that does exactly that, it restricts the amount that you can eat at any time, whereas the bypass is both restrictive and malabsorbtive so it not only restricts, but stops your body from absorbing the calories, nutrients and Protein. It really is a personal decision based on your needs and where you are comfortable. I spent many years say absolutely not to WLS, but that was before the sleeve was available, once I researched my brain to death about it, I changed my mind about WLS. OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted November 23, 2016 @@olamae I looked at the long term results and decided maybe losing an extra 20 pounds with bypass was not worth having my intestines touched. The sleeve results are so close to RNY, I didn't think it was worth the malabsorption. I still get to be a normal person with just a smaller capacity.
