I haven't done this with the RTD shakes as I don't like them, but I do it with the Syntrex nectar powder. I heat unsweetened almond milk until it's 130-135 degrees, then add the Protein Powder. It tastes great! Just don't let the temp go over 140 degrees, as your Protein will change texture (although the RTD shakes are heat processed to make them shelf safe, so not 100% sure how worried you should be...)

I make it with powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury but I like it darker and less sweet so I add a tea spoon of unsweetened coco powder to 1% milk (if I need to get in the 8 grams of extra protein) or unsweetened cashew milk (only 25 calories).

I heat 6 oz of milk and a tea spoon of coco powder to 140. (I have a thermometer) I stir 1/2 scoop of powder in remaining 2oz of warm milk and stir it together. Yum.

Experiment and report back! I have been thinking about doing the same thing, so perhaps I will give it a try today. The worst that will happen is you'll ruin one serving, right?

I haven't done it but I think it should be ok. I use the caramel premier as my coffee Creamer and add it directly to my very hot cup of coffee without problem. I think the ready to drink shakes aren't as finicky about temps as the powder (adding powder to hot liquid above 140 degrees makes it clump and be yucky). So as long as you gently warm it, it should be fine! There is also Protein hot chocolate mix that is a powder but can be added to hot Water - I've tried that, I think the brand is Healthwise - and it was pretty good.

Okay, I experimented. I made up 8 oz of skim milk with Gold Standard Extreme Milk chocolate Protein powder cold, and then zapped it for a little over a minute in the microwave. It got very warm, and a little frothy on top. It did not clump, but I think if I had continued to heat it, the froth would have continued to build. I may conduct further trials. In any case, it is almost like drinking hot chocolate with a little whipped cream on top. It is very good, and since it is about 39° here with the wind blowing at up to 35 mph, it is going down very nicely.

I usually just by the Protein hot chocolate from BariWise. I don't like the way heated up Protein shakes tend to separate.

That sounds like a good idea. I bought a five pound pail of the Gold Standard stuff, so I am going to be drinking it for a while though.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
