coodaben 21 Posted November 20, 2016 3 days out. When I woke up and the Dr. told me that the surgery took 2 hrs longer because of adhesions and that my liver had been nicked,I was questioning why I did this. 3 days in ICU wasn't very pleasant. I am home now and I am much better. A rough start to be sure, but the future looks promising. ppressey24 254 Posted November 21, 2016 So sorry that you were in ICU. That had to be really bad. They nicked your liver, did you have to do a pre op diet? How many days if you did? I had to do a 14 day all liquids. Ive read here that some drs only require a couple of days and even then theyre able to have a meal each day. Hope your recovery is smooth. coodaben 21 Posted November 21, 2016 I did all that I was told. The liver is a very fragile organ and because they had to carefully separate the fat from the different organs i.e. spleen and pancreas to get to the stomach, they nicked the liver. I lost some blood but not enough for a transfusion Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
