Hmmmn, if your following the plan, I guess nothing... sometimed tge metabolism fights you when calories are cut so drastically especially if you were dieting before... if your in PM's, that can play a role... mmm not sure what else... medications perhaps?

No medicines or pills... and I can't really workout much because I have a hip issue need to loose the weight to get hip replacement surgery... I'm taking the same shake I was before the liquid diet...

Are you just on shakes or are you eating one meal a day too?

If so what do you usually have?

How much Water are you drinking ?

What is your starting weight?

Are you exercising?

Bums about the hip and they didn't even want me being active on the pre op liquid diet due to risk if hypoglycemia so I don't think exercise is tge issue...

Sounds like it might be your metabolism... you can always ask your clinic if there is anything you can do bc your worried... maybe someone here will have a better idea?!

You might need to increase your Protein. When calorie intake is too low, your weightloss will stall for a bit. Make sure you are still getting 60g at least of protein.

Count your calories. If you are taking in adequate calories then ask your nutritionist or surgeon. Also, did they do a metabolism test? If not, ask for that.

Best of luck, I know how frustrating weightloss stalls can be.

@@Bouncy, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Your metabolism maybe stalling. But, it will have to bow down when it's not getting any food for a while. I think you'll start losing by the 3rd day. If not contact your nutritionist/surgeon.

I am guessing you are just stalled out a bit. It will catch up as long as you are following the plan. Drink tons and tons of Water, it will help as well.

My metabolism was impacted as well. I was on a two week liquid diet similiar to your but i could not have the yogurt. just Protein shakes, broth, sf Jello, sf popsicles.

I ended up losing 13lbs by the time i hit surgery day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
