Recommended Posts

This is my upcoming meal plan. I have carbs for the husband. I dont plan on eating those. The salads are going to be more topping heavy, less lettuce. These are in no particular order.

Chinese chicken salad (the leftover chicken)

Broccoli beef with rice

Beef stir-fry with chow mein

Coconut curry chicken with cauliflower rice

Pork laab with lettuce cups

Shrimp scampi with edamame spaghetti (24g Protein in the spagetti, lets hope it tastes good)

Greek chicken tenders with Greek salad

Barbacoa tacos with rice and Beans

Honey mustard chicken thighs with mashed potatoes and zucchini

Chili with cornbread

Frito pie (leftover chili, no fritos foe me)

Hasselback chicken with ham and smoked mozzarella and rosted asparagus

Sun-dried Tomato and chicken tenders over zoodles

Chicken and mixed bean Soup

Just a quick ? QueenOfTheTamazons

Are you eating the carbs? I didn't eat carbs until I was at my goal weight but I also know everyone's program is different.

I'm starting my regular foods now but have no idea what to eat. I feel like I'm still eating like I was when I was on liquid. Any ideas or recipes?

My week of meals (dinner) is this. I'm still playing with recipes, etc.

Cheeseburger pie (heart healthy bisquick)

Zucchini lasagna

Crock pot beef stew

chicken alfredo dip (also crock pot)

chicken breast in italian dressing marinade with veggies - i eat this often

Pork chop with husband's spice rub with veggies

I don't eliminate carbs, but I keep them low because they just make me uncomfortable. Starchy carbs are low, I eat fruit, nuts, complex carbs.

Bean carbs yes... others like rice, choe mein and potatoes... no. Those are to fill up the husband while we are waiting for his ins approval.

I wasn't being a jerk, I was just curious. Like I mentioned every Dr has their own way of doing things. Sorry If you thought I was being hateful. Because I wasn't

If you were responding to me, I didnt think you were being hateful. Its an honest question for a person who was recent sleeved like I have. Husband eats way more than I can, and still has ghrenlin that makes him cranky, so I make carb sides for him.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
