Genepro clumpy - how to mix

Recommended Posts

Howdy - I've been reading so many mixed reviews about if GENEPRO really has 30 grams of Protein or not.....but since I have it, I am going to use what I have.

People say the mix it in food and coffee. I just put a scoop in a cup of Tomato Soup, and it was clumpy and nasty and I had to toss it out.

Is there a trick? Do you have to dissolve it somehow before adding to hot liquid?

Above 140 degrees tends to have issues.

I make a paste, slowly adding more liquid until its smooth

I use mine in my coffee every morning, I put my half and half in the bottom of my cup, add the GENEPRO (sprinkle the scoop over the top, don't dump it in as one clump), stir it up well with a fork, then add the coffee. I have a high-end automatic espresso machine that dispenses at about 185 degrees, so the milk does the trick :) If you can't or don't use milk or cream, just put a few T of Water in the cup and do the same, then add the hot beverage. Definitely DON'T add the Protein powder to cold liquid then microwave it...that's a disaster.

For hot you must put it in the bottom, then add hot liquid. For cold, add liquid then gene pro on top. Mix with fork

I drink my coffee black. But use it in my coffee each morning. It sort of turns the color as if I've added a tad of milk. It I add extremely hot coffee I'll get some sediment floating so I try and let the coffee sit.

I blend the powder at cold or room temperature. It always gets clumpy when it's hot (at least for me) I use my bullet blender to mix the Soup and powder while still cold then heat up what im having. Works like a charm! I even mix it in with my flavored Water now.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
