Recommended Posts

So they finally called me today and schedule the surgery. I would like to know if someone can give me some guidance about what you guys had to do for the liquid diet. I know is the Protein shakes, crystal light and Jello. Any other suggestions??

I'm feeling great. I stopped taking pain medicine 3 days post op. I urinated and walked immediately after being assigned my room after surgery. My surgeon said it took 26 minutes total. No hernia and my liver looked amazing. It's just uncomfortable sleeping

@@Polarbearwifey no problem! Only thing is, is that to find the group you have to Be on a desk top, app doesn't show them :( so you have to search it in search bar then on the side were categories aren't click group because it will automatically be under forums but once you click group it will be the only one there and once joined if anyone writes a topic in the group it will show in your notifications even on the app

@@Wilson I know the feeling. I have to make the ham for Thanksgiving and I will be on the liquid diet. But we made a commitment to ourselves to be healthy. It sucks but we can do it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
