Well, I skipped the egg, went for the Protein shake again. I guess good habits are hard to break.

But for lunch, I pureed 1/4 th of a small (snack size) can of 98% fat free chicken in Water and mixed 1/4 tsp of FF ranch dressing with it.

Pure heaven, but I got full after 4 small teaspoons . Never made it to the pureed cauliflower...LOL

My weekly grocery bill is going to be real small for a while. Hope everybody is having a good day....Dave

I don't say you should, but during my liquid phase my DH had pizza layin around one nite. I couldn't take it anymore and sucked on a piece of crust.. I didn't swallow anything, but I was so obsessed with having something in my mouth.. how horrible is that?!

After your band heals up, you'll be in bandster hell, so enjoy the feeling of not needing to eat while it lasts!

For me a lot of tuna/ham/chicken/seafood salad, cottage/ricotta cheese, blended turkey chili, blended veggies and fruits, refried Beans, eggs, and yogurt.

I found I really like that canned chicken. With mayo or ranch, with chic gravy, with ricotta and red sauce.

I'm ready for "real" food again.

All that sounds good! I am supposed to be on liquids till I see the Dr. on Tuesday, but I figured that really finely mashed potatos and thin gravy wouldn't hurt. Hopefully?!

Wow, you are lucky. I had 2 weeks of liquids before mushies. 7 more days, then soft food for a week. My dr is pretty strict with the diet plan....Dave

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
