Spammers need SLS (Spam Loss Surgery)!

Recommended Posts

I have been noticing SPAM posts and SPAM status updates.

What a choice do they offer us: fix premature ejaculation, male enhancements, garcinia for weight-loss, Probiotics, there were some targeting the female members and more ....

Usually a Spam post is made as a 1st Newbie post.

Usually the spammer will post only a link to their spamming website. I am seriously concerned that by inadvertently clicking on one of those links could potentially result in downloading a trojan virus and malware.

Spammers also post status updates.< /p>

I just had my little rant about Spammers in my status update, then noticed that Directly below My status update is a Spammer promoting male enhancements and stopping/curing premature ejaculation .......

There were some spamming posts in the past that totally did not make sense! Yes, written in English with words put together into nonsense, like a wilted word salad ....

I normally used to ignore the spamming posts, I also reported a few.

Today I decided to Rant about the spammers.

PS, all that hype re: garcinia cambogia is bogus. It will not magically melt fat away nor reduce the appetite.

I think this problem could be solved by restricting Newbies from posting links.

I think what the spammers are doing is to post links so that spiders can pick up the link and position their link high up on the search engine listings. So it is important to permanently remove this spam and not let it sit in the archives of this website. Otherwise this website is inadvertently giving these links credibility.

It also seems like this Spam is being generated in India or that region. It generally appears around 2 o'clock (East Coast of the U.S. time) in the morning or thereabouts. And some originators once and a while cite their location as country of origin.

Great advice! It makes sense re restricting Newbies initially from posting links.

I agree re removing these spammers and their posts ASAP.

Could you or Ken S look into it, please?

Thank you.

At least the Spammers are good for a laugh. Their English is fascinating. I've tried reporting a couple of these posts, but it seems it's getting worse! My cleavage, premature ejaculation, size and energy levels don't need your wonder cream/pills, people.

LOL, the Spammer below my status took a hike! So it is Not Lisa's status below mine.

Right now, there is 1 Spammer at the bottom of Recent Topics, and 5 in Topics with No Reply!

Pretty please use the REPORT function to let us know about spam posts. We normally block them as soon as they're reported! Good idea on disabling newbies from adding links. We will implement that.

Thank you Alex! I've reported few spammers.

Today I decided to out them out ....

I will go back to reporting them.

Yes, disabling newbies from posting links will be a sensible action, hopefully we will be getting lot less of Spam, and hopefully none.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
