Ready... set... get approved by insurance [emoji4]

Just got a call today to set up my first phone dietician consultation. My insurance requires 5 phone consults 2 weeks apart before you can schedule surgery. Based on that time line I should be good to go around Feb/March. I'm super excited. I downloaded the app to track my food and I've been on the Vitamin regime so that becomes habit. I've been watching all the success stories and I'm super excited to have my own! Just had to share as you all can relate a little more than my loved ones

Wow, I had to have 3 visits psych, 3 visit nutritionist @ mayo before I could schedule. Also had to do stress test, which I failed so I had to have heart catherization, had blockage but manage with meds, cardadiologist cleared me for surgery. Then had to do an overnight sleep study, I have sleep apnea, need to wear CPAC at night, Dr cleared me for surgery.. whew a lot of tests & bloodwork. I'm on Medicare & supplement so no approval necessary.

Depending on co-morbidities my insurance and surgeon require a lot of that as well but luckily I'm still young enough that I don't have any co-morbidities yet. This is why I want to get it done now and not when I'm older and have health problems due to obesity.
