Hello everyone... I was sleeved on 10/31/2016. My weight at surgery was 218, the day after surgery my weight was 227 I spent 2 days in the hospital and when I was discharged from the hospital I weighed 224 - that was 11/2/2016 I am now 212 but i am very concerned at how slowly the weight loss has been. I dont feel like I'm loosing very much weight for the small amount of food that I'm eating. Am I being overly concerned or does this seem abnormal. Please, give me your thoughts...

Don't worry. That's all absolutely normal. You'll lose weight in fits and starts. Let your body heal.

my weight loss stalled in the first week, which was a bit of a shock. But I had lost a lot in the 2 weeks prior to surgery so it took my body a while to get adjusted. Stay off the scale for a while. It will make you crazy.

My surgery date was 05/27 at surgery date I was 219 and currently I am 175 and throughout the months I feel I have lost weight super slow compare to others. I guess everyone is different. I wouldn't worry. Hang in there ????

Not to worry totally normal. I actually gained a pound when I went from liquids to purees, it eventually dropped off again.

It takes about 2,800 calories the maintain 275 pounds. You are currently eating maybe 500-800 calories. No matter what the scale says you are losing FAT.

I find that I lose more weight if I drink more clear no calorie fluids.

Weight loss is a funny thing. I have lost weight fairly slowly compared to many (apart from the first 2 weeks, it has been consistently 1lb per week average - now 6 months post op) however although the average is 1, it is almost never 1lb in a week. I have had stalls for up to 3 weeks and even a gain but overall it is coming off nice and steady. So try not to worry too much. If you are following the plan and not cheating it absolutely will come off.

I'm 8 months out it seemed so slow in the start and then all of a sudden boom I was thinner and everyone was commenting and asking and I felt like wow you've only just noticed I've been on this journey ages but within 8 months I was 40kgs down I am almost at goal it honestly just happens don't stress or fight it just be patient and stick to the rules slow and steady wins the race.

My friend gave me sage advice. Put away the damn scale. He said bring it out once a month. I do not see any difference in my body. I don't feel different. I out on a paid of size 18 jeans yesterday and within an hour they were falling off. By the end of the day, they were so baggy and loose I felt ridiculous. I put on a pair of 16s this morning. They feel like the 18s did, pre-surgery. So, something must be working for me. I'm day 25 today.

I'm in the same place. I'm really disappointed. I had my surgery 10/3/16, I've only lost 23 lbs and I'm coming up on two months! This week I'm going to really focus on getting in more Water to see if that will help. All I can say is just keep working the program, hopefully we will see less of us soon!

I totally feel the same way! I also hear this is a common problem. I will try and be patient but I'm not known for that... I'm just doing what I'm told and trying not to get discouraged but I think we all have those down days and not seeing any progress isn't helpful. I really can't wait to get this weight off.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
