Since I can't tell when I get full I think I ate too much and vomited. Sorry to be graphic but it just came right up and out. Good thing I was smart enough to go to the bathroom when I got the feeling.

I havent had that happen yet. The gross thing that happens to me is I have saliva or mucus come up after eating. Almost like my stomach says "here, hold this, I need to make some space". I eat privately because of this.

What you are doing is called maybe not professionally but around the WL peeps is "FOAMIES" I have had my share of vomiting. I had Strictures and couldn't even keep Water down. Strictures are basically scar tissue. All is GREAT NOW!!

This is why you need to measure/weigh your food and eat very, very slowly. Are you still on purees or are you on soft or full diet? It takes a few times to realize what satiated feels like, going slow will give you a bit more leeway so you don't vomit.

Today is 1 month Post Op. I can start solid food today. I was eating Hummus last night and yes I wasn't paying attention. You can believe that it will not happen again.

That isn't being graphic. Being graphic is describing the taste coming up, the feeling as it shot from your body, the smell of the vomit, comparison of the color to that of 70's shag carpet, explaining the size of the chunks, giving us the distance of the projection and finally how hard it was to clean it up after it hit your cat but your dog helped with some of the clean up by eating most of it.

No sir, your standards are too low. You're going to have to try harder next time.

It's gross, huh? For me, vomiting post op is MUCH different than before. And yes even when you're an old WLS hag like me, you can eat too much or your sleeve won't like something or you'll have too much acid building up in your stomach and..........yup.

YES. This was my first oopsie as well. Mindless eating, not paying attention.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
