Vitamin K not in Opurity multi?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I just finished up the bottle of Bariatric Advantage multi-vitamins that I got from my doctors office. I opened up a new bottle of opurity which I got when I ordered a bunch of Unjury products. I was just making a comparison of the bottles side by side and noticed that the Opurity multi does not list Vitamin K. Has anyone else had experience taking this one? I meant to buy only 1 bottle (90 day supply) but accidentally purchased 2 instead, so I've got a 6 month supply! Yikes! Should I go out and find a Vit K supplement to take along with it? I'm wondering if a Vit K deficiency isn't all that common for VSG patients and maybe that's why it's not included???? I hate to add another pill to the regimen. If it's not necessary, I can skip it, however, if it's really important I would hate to be 6 months without it. But I'm thinking if it were important, it would be included in this Multi-Vitamin which is supposed to be specifically for sleeve patients. Any insight????

So I went to support group last night and found out I can keep taking them, that the vit K supplement isn't essential.

Vitamin k increases you bloods ability to clot, good if you get cut but not so good after surgery.

The lack of Vitamin k is because K thickens your blood. This is important for those on blood thinners

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
