I'm just finishing my puree stage. Here's what I've been eating.

Breakfast:

Scrambled eggs (not pureed)

oatmeal (not pureed w/unflavored Protein powder)

Cream of wheat (not pureed w/unflavored Protein powder)

Protein shakes (Isopure - 50g)

Lunch/Dinner (all usually w/unflavored Protein Powder added):

Chili

Roast or corned beef hash

Chunky brand Soups

tuna, chicken or egg salad

chicken burrito puree (see recipe section on this forum)

Tuna casserole puree (see recipe section on this forum)

Shelly's Ricotta bake (see recipe section on this forum or eggface blog)

Pesto chicken (just canned chicken with some jar pesto and a little water)

Saucy meatballs (meatballs, jar marinara sauce & parmesan cheese)

"Snacks":

Protein Shakes (usually my go-to snack)

Protein Water (Nature's Source or Isopure)

Cottage cheese (pureed)

sugar-free Jello and pudding

sugar-free popsicles

Hope this helps!

What kind of volume are you eating with the chili, etc? I had pureed taco Soup tonight and was able to eat 8oz in less than 30 minutes. I just started pureed today. It was a little uncomfortable but went away in less than 15 minutes.

I have been able to get my liquids and protein in since day 2.

My plan called for 1/2 cup portions during the puree stage. The denser the food was (refried Beans, chili, etc), the less I could eat. With Soups, I could eat a little more (maybe 3/4 of a cup), but tried to eat just 1/2 cup, as directed by my NUT. Good luck! The puree stage only lasts for a short period of time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
