Happy, sad, exhausted, totally emotional rant I fuess

Recommended Posts

I have always had hormone issues, low low progesterone. Never was that emotional "girly girl"but lately. Had a partial hysterectomy in June stage 2 cancer, but rny bypass was already in the works, pre op classes and monthly weight loss visits. Got the go ahead from cancer specialist in Sept. Rny October 3rd. I have lost 60 lbs total happy about that. No longer is my life food centered. Lately I am so hormonal though. I am over sensitive and cry at the drop of a hat. Not sad just goofy stuff. It's like I see me thinking crying about this is stupid yet cry anyways. Movies, things people say even positive, my favorite skirt fell off, still not sure if that was happy or sad tears. Exhausted. Even at my high weight 5 years ago 332. I could paint a room, cut the grass, active stuff not get tired, get lazy, but not tired. Now naps sound like the most wonderful thing in the world. Never was a nap person either.

Is this what normal is?

Please tell me it gets better?

Hey I haven't got my surgery yet my surgery for gastric bypass is on December 12th,2016 of this year I go in at 930 am. But I can tell you this I have gone to classes and I have been seeing weight loss specialists straight for over 10 years non stop and I tried all kinds of medicines nothing ever worked. So then my mom is a emergency room doctor and she suggested I go and get the gastric bypass laparoscopic one. So I had to get a ekg and a stress test and I had to get cleared from a heart doctor then a my oncologist and Hemotology Doctor they all cleared me then they had my primary sign me off for this surgery also the nephrologist also had to clear me too! So I had all those doctors clear me then the weight loss diaticians had to clear me also so I got cleared by all of them and I have a really good surgeon who's all over the Tv he works hand and hand with dr oz who is on tv and the dr's show also he did a lot of celebrities surgerys like marie ozman he did her surgery and her hubbys surgery and he also did the singer named heart he did her surgery and did whoopi Goldbergs surgery and over hundreds of thousands more celebrities surgeries but he told me that I am in for a long ride for this surgery. I know what to expect cuz my mom is a doctor also my mom is on call 24/7 so thank god I have Medicare even though I am so young that they are covering the whole surgery and then they also are giving me my own nurse who is coming home with me she will stay with me around the clock for 24 hours a day to help make my shakes for 6 weeks since I cannot have any real food and she willl give me a IV pain medicine every 3 hours for the pain and then she is gonna do IV antibiotics too and she is gonna give me the IV for all my Vitamins I need so I'm pretty lucky and she has to get me up everyday to walk me for like 30 minutes a day for 6 weeks too! She helps me around the clock even in the middle of the night when I'm in severe pain also! After the surgery! But a lot of people don't have that luxury and that's why they are going thru a lot of other issues!! But I don't know if your insurance covers a stay at home nurse with you after the surgery but call your insurance and see if they can help you and provide you a nurse! Because Medicare says that the gastric bypass is a massive surgery so they automatically pay for your own personal nurse around the clock for 6 weeks! Check and see if you can get that like me it might be easier for you . You gotta make sure you take the Bariatrics Vitamins not the normal vitamins cuz the normal vitamins won't work it has to be the bariatrics vitamins and you have to take them like every 3 hours and if you don't you can loose your mind mentally you can go insane without the right amount of the vitamins in your body!

In short, yes it's normal. Your body is awash in hormones that had been stored in fat. It will get better. I bled for the first two months. Cried too. Then things started evening out.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
