Sent from my LG-H811 using the BariatricPal App I'm always scared to be put under, I think that's fairly normal. It's a weird experience though, not quite like taking a nap for me because it feels like no time passes at all. It's like you blink and it's over. Youll be fine. krissyleigh 30 Posted November 14, 2016 I was very scared... not just about going under but about everything involved with the surgery. It all worked out for me. Stay strong. There cannot be bravery without fear. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
blizair09 3,250 Posted November 14, 2016 I was terrified, but it was really very simple. Once they gave me the stuff, I was out in 30 seconds, and next thing I knew, I was waking up in recovery. Now, I felt like hell, but the "being under" part wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.
rolosmom7 740 Posted November 14, 2016 You can always tell them how anxious you are and see if they'll give you a dose of xanax or valium. They usually do once your IV is in, but they may also call one in for you. Just make sure you don't drive. And like stated above, you'll be out and the next thing you'll remember is being in your room.
TheCurvyJones 721 Posted November 14, 2016 The Sleeve was my first surgery and I was terrified. But I was out before I even really knew it and was waking up. I felt like I had never even gone to sleep, like I blinked and I was waking up.

kittykatlover 50 Posted November 14, 2016 I was peteified. Never had general anesthesia before. I remember moving onto the operating table and the anesthesiologist asking if I was comfortable and then he told me to put the oxygen mask over my mouth and that was it.
