Where have I been from edieparks

Recommended Posts

NO ONE may care.

I have been doing great on maintenance.

I have a part-time job during the day.

I have added a part-time job at night now.

I have so much energy with all this weight off I had to do something with it.

I go to the chat room more now. I need to add to the posts but it is what it is. I never want to forget this site because it helped me so much. The only support group was 2 hours away . This site was my support .

I am enjoying my life so much with a handle on my addiction.

I have been wondering where you've been!

Does anyone know what the heck happened to Carlene?

Hi Edie, I was a lurker for quite awhile. I always enjoyed reading about the "oldtimers" or "experienced bandsters". All of you helped me make my decision. When they changed the format here, it seemed I lost alot. I dont see posts from you,Wheetsin,or Carlene anymore! Maybe I am not looking on the right threads. You have been an inspiration. I look forward to losing and having energy again also. Thanks so much!!!

It sure is nice hearing from you, Edie. :) It is always great hearing from the oldtimers and successful maintainers. This is why it is great hearing from you, too, Chickie. :) And where are those other voices of reason - Carlene and Wheets???? :):confused:

Oh, we do care! Good to hear from you!

I'm a big believer in staying busy. I think it has helped me a lot. But never too busy to mess with my dogs. I know you're the same...

Take care!

Bruce

I was wondering where you were. Yesterday I looked for you in the July 06 thread.

Eddie, your enthusiasm is inspiring. I can see how truly exciting it must be to be at goal. May your highs never stop.

I have 20 to go and I know I will be every bit as thrilled as you are.

hugs

2 jobs eh? That will be good for your wardrobe.

I got busy this morning and posted on some of my favorite threads. I hope everyone enjoys reading them like Thread killers. There is so much funny stuff in that one. Some of it is shocking.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
