MSer07 39 Posted November 13, 2016 when I am able to have soft foods/ pureed food, is mashed bananas and Peanut Butter OK to have??? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
FrankyG 1,450 Posted November 13, 2016 I wouldn't. Bananas (and fruit in general) are higher carb/fat, and Peanut Butter is extremely full of fat/sugar. I don't eat either of those hardly ever even at 2 years out. Usually the foods recommended are things like cottage cheese, sugar free pudding, yogurt (greek especially for the higher Protein content), refried Beans (with shredded cheese/sour cream/unflavored greek yogurt), scrambled eggs and other high Protein lower fat/carb foods. What does your doctor's nutritional guidelines recommend? That's what I would be paying the most attention to.

_Kate_ 2,224 Posted November 13, 2016 Stick to your surgeons guidelines and make the most of the 'honeymoon' period before adding high carb/sugar foods. Kate

jane13 2,256 Posted November 13, 2016 like others have mentioned you really need to check with your doctor. both are high in carbs and sugar I eat them occasionally - Peanut Butter is a life long fav for me
