sjohn185 25 Posted November 13, 2016 I haven't been able to drink any juice only Water & sugar free popsicles. I was feeling no energy so I made myself a scrambled egg with fat free milk and was able to eat some of it without any problems. Do you think it was ok for me to eat? sunnydeeliteful 91 Posted November 13, 2016 I don't know your Drs requirements, but I'm on full liquids for two weeks before I can move on to mushies. Check with your nut and ask for a printout of what your eating plan should be. Sent from my SM-G550T1 using the BariatricPal App
James Marusek 5,244 Posted November 13, 2016 The three most important elements after RNY gastric bypass surgery are to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight. It is important to follow the plan guidelines on food. Your stomach in the beginning is in a major heal mode. It needs time to recover and heal itself. If you transition to quickly from liquids to pureed to solids you may damage this healing process and regret it. I know you are tempted and so was I, but it really is best to adhere to the guidelines.

elisa5150 212 Posted November 13, 2016 No. it isn't ok. You are tired because you are recovering from major surgery. Rest, fluids, follow your plan. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Marissa.Ann.C 21 Posted November 15, 2016 Your stomach is not ready to handle that yet! Stick with the approved foods Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Jill_Me 100 Posted November 15, 2016 I agree with Marissa. Stick with the doctor's orders. You could end up with a leak if you put food in there at this point. Resist the urge! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
sjohn185 25 Posted November 16, 2016 Well I saw my dr today 8 days post op and he said it was ok as long as my stomach tolerated it. And he said I'm doing better then any patient he's had. I'm in no pain and I even went back to work 1/2 days Monday. I'm able to eat any soft or puréed food now. I'm not restricted to only puréed. So I appreciate your opinions but I'm good thanks.
