I haven't been able to drink any juice only Water & sugar free popsicles. I was feeling no energy so I made myself a scrambled egg with fat free milk and was able to eat some of it without any problems. Do you think it was ok for me to eat?

The three most important elements after RNY gastric bypass surgery are to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight.

It is important to follow the plan guidelines on food. Your stomach in the beginning is in a major heal mode. It needs time to recover and heal itself. If you transition to quickly from liquids to pureed to solids you may damage this healing process and regret it. I know you are tempted and so was I, but it really is best to adhere to the guidelines.

No. it isn't ok. You are tired because you are recovering from major surgery. Rest, fluids, follow your plan.

I agree with Marissa. Stick with the doctor's orders. You could end up with a leak if you put food in there at this point. Resist the urge!

Well I saw my dr today 8 days post op and he said it was ok as long as my stomach tolerated it. And he said I'm doing better then any patient he's had. I'm in no pain and I even went back to work 1/2 days Monday. I'm able to eat any soft or puréed food now. I'm not restricted to only puréed. So I appreciate your opinions but I'm good thanks.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
