Lorie821 0 Posted September 11, 2007 Hi all! I found out at about 10:00 A.M. that my insurance is going to pay for my surgery! Yippee! I am 34 years old and have a BMI of 48, so I need to lose about half my person. Still not sure which surgery I am going to have. I like the lapband because you lose more slowly and it gives your skin time to "spring" back into shape. Another part of me likes the RNY because of how rapidly you lose weight. I am probably leaning more towards the band because it seems to me that it will be a lifelong tool in weight management. I have a friend who had RNY and she has gained back every pound she lost. Anyway, I'm just glad that I'm approved and things will be moving forward.
