Guest Posted November 13, 2016 I was looking at buying some calcium chews to try out flavors and read calories. It takes 6 chews per day on most to meet the daily requirements for vsg patients. That mean 90 calories daily, which means 2700 calories a month! That is almost 1 pound a month!! Guess I will just crush calcium citrate into my Protein Shakes Many people buying different chewy Vitamins, I wonder if they realize this. Guest Posted November 13, 2016 I do know some are sugar free (malitol) and one chew is 15 cals, so closer to 1400 cals a month, but over a year that's almost 6 lbs. Are they worth that? Sent from my SM-G900H using the BariatricPal App

Butterflywarrior 241 Posted November 13, 2016 Some ppl find them to be the one little treat they can legally have lol..NUT said this to me... So far, the Kirkland ones I tried tasted nasty!! So I'm considering another pill...if they aren't horse sized... I take a lot of pills as it is and it's much hRder with the sipping Water thing... That's a lot of calories but I want to be fit abd healthy without obsessing about every fat, calorie and whatever is going in and out bc that's why ppl with eating disorders do like anorexia.... It's good info to consider though but just saying, to me, I want weight loss, healthy eating, exercise without counting every drop. Of course, in the beginning, logging is important to make sure you're accountable etc but that's my limit!!

If it makes the difference between taking your supplements regularly and not taking them regularly because you have to choke them down every time you have to take them, the answer is: Holy Crap, yes! summerset 5,265 Posted November 13, 2016 I wonder if they realize this. I do, but I don't mind. I don't mind the calories my supplements have. The fact that I don't have to choke down my supplements is well worth a few calories.
catwoman7 11,220 Posted November 13, 2016 I just factor them into my daily calorie range. Like an above poster said, it's a daily t treat I allow myself. Although I usually just take one. For the rest of my doses, I mix Upcal D into my morning yogurt (9 calories) and drop or crush a couple of tablets into my Protein shake (0 calories)

Guest Posted November 13, 2016 20161113_144106-1.jpg20161113_144124-1.jpg This is what I take. I am still pre-op I take 3 a day. Cocoon to Butterfly Yeap, wanted those too. I am pre-sleeve and just making sure I have everything ready. I know how hard it is to take weight off (and keep off), so I know that everyone loves these and might try for a month or two post op. After that I didn't want so many calories. I know it's not a lot but taking these for 5 years (since we have to pretty much take Vitamins for life) would add up to 30 lbs. I love to pre-plan, figure worst case down the line will add crushed to Protein drinks. That is why I am so concerned about gaining down the line, it happens to many after a few years. THANKS to all for sharing.
Guest Posted November 13, 2016 @@summerset ....thanks for making me laugh.... @@Butterflywarrior I'm a total numbers person, if I don't track those 15 calories everyday that's how got to 332 once. I will have to track food for life. I managed to go from 332 back to 248 and stopped tracking for two months starting in July. Well, here I am back at 265-268. A calorie here and there for me is disastrous. I work 7 days a week, don't eat fast food or junk, work out, but hit that age where numbers count. That is why I am so concerned about starting out on these. Thanks for sharing.
summerset 5,265 Posted November 13, 2016 @@Ginsin007 My usual supps are clocking in at about 60 cals a day (just checked) - I think that's well worth it.

Lol People can fall into disordered eating to actual pathology from obsession over every calorie and what it means! I'm not saying your extreme or wrong it just makes me nervous to think like that... I want to enjoy life still but not gain all my list weight back either... happy medium... that's my desire
