Still can't wear jeans.

Recommended Posts

8 days post op and I can't wear anything but pj's, sweat pants and yoga pants. How long did it take you to be comfortable in jeans?

I know that you don't want to hear this. I could've been in my jeans on day 1. My point is that everyone is different.

It took me a week or so to wear them a few hours. Slowly I was able to wear them longer Nad longer. Most days I can wear my jeans all day but there are days I cant. Sleeved 9/19

It was a couple of weeks for me. The problem was sitting- -jeans didn't come close to my lowest incision while standing, but they irritated it when sitting.

I was able to wear jeans from the first week, but my incisions are above my waistline (one in my belly button), so they aren't touched by the jeans.

My incisions were very close to the waist line. I couldn't wear jeans for a good 4 weeks. After the incisions healed, I was able to wear them again. By that point, they were too big ;-). Fortunately, I had some smaller ones from my "old closet."

I am living in LulaRoe leggings and yoga pants.

What size are you? I got some TC leggings and one pair is tight as all, and the others ripped on the butt. Like. Big rips. I'm an 18 so I don't get it - everywhere online says they go to a 22 and some people say 24 can fit. They're so soft!!

I also had an umbilical hernia repaired at the same time my sleeve was done.

I waited 3 weeks before wearing belted pants.

Loose fitting gym clothes where my norm from the hospital until that 3 week mark.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
