I've been doing some research and I've heard people recommending these strips for the gas pain. I know walking is the key but has anyone tried these? I plan on walking but if these help also it would be good. I'm on board for Monday the 14th. I have to be at the hospital at 5 AM! Spending the weekend getting everything in order. I will be on full liquids when I get home for the first week. Then puréed stage for the second week, soft foods for weeks two and three. I'm so excited for this new journey in my life.

I'm a year post op from the sleeve. I dissolve 2 gas x strips daily to deal with gas pains. (I have digestion. And gi issues that I'm waiting to see specialist for.) I buy several boxes at a time of the gas x strips.

Ok, so there really is two kinds of gas pain that you will deal with post surgery.

1. The gas they use in the surgery to expand your tummy. They try to remove as much as possible but there is always some left and it can be pretty darn uncomfortable. Walking, heating pad/packs and sipping Water will help with this. Gas X will not.

2. The gas pains when your digestive system starts working (bowels) and this for me was the worst part of the pain. Walking, heating pad, sipping as much Fluid as you can stand and gas x will definately help this pain. And it can be very painful.....

People confuse these two issues because honestly after day 1 they both are working at the same time. So, it can be a double whammy.

For me it was discomfort moreso than pain but for some it can be miserable.

Not everyone has problems with gas after surgery. I never did.

Gas pains from surgery are from the CO2 they blow your abdomen up with, we exhale CO2 so to get rid of the surgery gas you need to exhale it.

Gas x strips will get rid of gas that's closed in your digestive system they will not help with the CO2 from surgery.

Best bet after surgery is to walk and move around when resting as much as you can to get it to the cells that will carry it out of your body through breathing. Good luck!! It sounds bad but everyone is different and everyone here has lived to talk about it

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
