spooter32 0 Posted December 14, 2004 Hello, my name is Theresa and my sister and I are scheduled for Lap Band surgery on 12/22. We have both struggle with weight issues the majority of our lives. We have also tried just about every other diet out there. Our weight is hierdiatry. Our Mom (who is the most wonderful women in the world) weighs well over 400. She had the gastric bypass surgery 4 years ago. While some think it didn't work for her (she only lost about 100 lbs) we think she's better. She is driving again and gets out of the house almost daily. Both Lori (Sister) and I do not want to end up in her shoes. We are lucky in that we do not have any underlying health issues, but they are sure to come if we don't get rid of our obesity. We are anxiously waiting. I have done so much reading that I feel well prepared. But as I read, I see that there are lots of surprises. I hope all of you are doing well.
Vera 7 Posted December 14, 2004 Hello Theresa, Congratulations to you and your sister Lori. My mom was well over 400 when she passed on, but it was from Breast Cancer well over 42 years ago and before we had the advances we do now. Congrats to your Mom too. Bless her heart. New Hope 37 Posted December 15, 2004 Congratulations to you, your sister, and your Mother for choosing to take back control of your life! I'm so glad that neither of you have any health problems yet. That is great that you will be each other's support buddy. Do you live near each other? What surgeon is doing your banding? Best of luck to all of you! It looks like 2005 is going to be a great year for your entire family!
spooter32 0 Posted December 15, 2004 We are less than 1 mile from each other. We see each other at least 2 or 3 times a week. Would be more, but I work full time and also go to school full time. Dr. Kuri is our surgeon. We are looking forward to a new year, that's for sure.
