Just did some real disrespectful stuff!

Recommended Posts

I was just sleeved on the 7th in Mexico. I have not had any problems swallowing. I've been drinking plenty of fluids. Protein Shakes, broth, Water, Propel, etc. why did I just try to eat a 1/2 of a grilled cheese sandwich? It went down great but then I heard my stomach say, "Why did you just do that? I specifically told you that you were done eating that type of stuff but you still want to disrespect me. Let me show you how I treat people that is disrespectful to me". All of a sudden, there was a pain that I have never felt before, and it lasted long time too! Bottom line, I'm gonna respect you from now on!!!!!! It won't happen again!!!!!!!

YIKES! Glad you're ok after that...The diet phases are in place for our own protection, as the surgical wounds heal...We definitely don't need seeds, nuts, "other rough stuff" affecting a healing wound.

Get back on track & take steps to stay on track.

Are you keeping a food diary? That was something that I was "strongly advised to do" during the 6-months of pre-op nutritionist visits...to track my fluids, calories, Protein, etc...but mainly, for accountability.

If we have to write it down, we have to OWN it...and it makes us think twice about what we put into our mouths.

Take care of yourself as you heal!

Ok so let me just preface this by saying I am pre-op still, but I can't say that I really understand, I mean you write that post like it was some joke, that it was somehow funny that you tried to eat that so early post op, it's really not that funny. Do you know why it caused you so much pain? Because it's actually dangerous for you to be eating like that right now. I mean what would possess you to do that? I'm just curious because the dangers of not following the proper stages of eating post op scare me so I think I would be too scared and I definitely wouldn't joke about it

Yip!! Sometimes we just have to push it and learn the hard way! Good tracking helps with online apps or a journey...keeps up accountability

Frenchie1977, I really could care less what you think. You are the exact reason why people really don't like posting their mistakes. You said that I posted it as a joke and you are right because I had to find out the hard way about my body. You could've kept that weak comment to yourself. Let me ask your close minded self a question...... Did you get anything out of my post? If the answer is yes, then shut up and stop trying to bash. And if you didn't get anything from it, you should still shut up. And I am being very nice on this post when I really want to give you some choice words.

I would definitely contact your surgeon ASAP. You'll be lucky if you don't develop a leak in your sleeve. What you did was the equivalent of breaking your leg, then cutting off your cast 4 days after coming home from the hospital and trying to run a mile...

Look, I know how difficult the pre-op and post-op liquid phases are. You just want something substantial and solid, but this is major surgery and you just can't give in to the temptations, or you're risking your life.

Hope you get back on track, but really, call your surgeon.

It's all good! I made a mistake but apparently I'm not allowed to do that. I'm down 53 pounds from October 23rd to now. I tried my body and lost.I posted it thinking that someone would say that they've been there and overcame. Instead, I'm met with angry, non rational comments from people that supposedly is going through the same thing. At the end of the day, we are all human and we are gonna make mistakes. I didn't eat the sandwich because I needed to, I ate it because I've been taking liquids in so well that I was starting to doubt if the surgeon (Mexico) did actually sleeve me. No more no less. I found out that they did do a wonderful job. But if jumping on this post makes you feel good about yourself, feel free to do so. I'm built for it!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.
