Same. I am staying far away from the scale for at least a week/ week and a half. I know if I get on it will be with expectations. And I am certain my body is still retaining a ton of Water. My only priority is making sure I don't have to go to the hospital again and healing at this point. Once we get this out of the way then we can focus on the losing aspect.

I am glad you feeling better I actually measured myself before surgery and I was so curious so I measured myself right now and it looks like I went down one inch so I guess is working... my other question is are you having difficulties drinking your liquids cause I am not wondering if my sleeve is a thin as other people...I mean I take my time drinking but so far it's been good I get full but I can continue minutes later...is because is only liquids? ??

Oh my goodness....same here. I am 9 days out of surgery and I still feel bloated. Everyday I ask someone "why did I do this". The recovery is more difficult than I imagined. I know I'm supposed to drink fluids but I feel full all of the time. My dr said it's all normal, though. The adjustment to your new life after surgery seems more challenging than the procedure itself. But there is not one person I know who has had this or any weight loss surgery who says it was anything but the best decision the could have made for themselves!

I had my surgery two weeks ago today. And the first week was HARD. My emotions were all over the place. I was so bloated and kept thinking I have made a mistake. Protein shakes weren't going down and any liquid was a struggle. So I took a few days and just focused on getting liquids in and recovery. Taking the pressure off of having to get so much Protein in helped mentally for me.

Now at week two. And it's still hard. But I feel better. Have been back to work for a week and am moving to soft foods.

Honestly I don't think anyone can prepare you for this process but being kind to your body and focus on one thing at a time seems to be the path for me..... so far.

I can keep liquids down but the Protein shakes.... Man are they hard to take in. I take so long drinking them. Yay an inch is great!!

I had the same moment @@chiquiroxy did when I realized how much liquid I was actually able to consume.. honestly I didn't even give the Protein an honest try until day 3. I have to drink it in intervals. Since then I've been getting better everyday today I met my 70 protein goal about to hit 64 ounces of fluids as well as an hour and a half of physical activity. I feel exhausted and all I did was consume varying liquids all day lol. Good lord.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
