jennk1975 16 Posted December 26, 2016 I sometimes wonder the same cuz I wasn't supposed to be able to swallow pills but no problem and though I've been consuming liquids slow no bad effects so I was asking myself that same question! Not that I want to be sick but I do want to restrict food and liquids Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App i think the pill thing is not about swallowing it is about being able to have them in you long enough to absorb the medicine. I have a BP pill that is repulsive crushed but I force myself to choke it down every morning. So gross though. Nicetomeetyou 82 41 Posted December 27, 2016 2 weeks post op today and down 17lbs. I started myself on purees for dinner on Christmas Eve! So far I have tolerated everything well! Yesterday morning I even had some scrambled eggs. Last night I tried some turkey breast (not puréed) with mashed potatoes. About 15 minutes after I was a little nauseas but it went away after another 15 min or so. It definitely gets better after that first weeks and a half! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I need encouragement. I am 4 days post op and all i want is some chicken deli meat Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Jill_Me 100 Posted December 30, 2016 Feel better Alexis! Ask your dr if it's ok to use a dulcolax suppository. They gave me one in the hospital and it made such a difference. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Jill_Me 100 Posted December 30, 2016 I need encouragement. I am 4 days post op and all i want is some chicken deli meat Hang in there! I felt the same way and thought I was going to lose my mind. Turns out chicken makes me nauseous every time I eat it but turkey is my friend. It was so worth the wait. This is a tough time but you've got this. You'll be eating food in no time. I ate too much leftover turkey thigh (no white meat allowed yet) today and spent about 20 minutes spitting saliva in the toilet ready to barf. But I didn't throw it up. It was SUCH an awful feeling. I gotta stick to eating out of my little 2 oz container and not let this happen again. It is nice to eat food again but it is such a struggle to implement such a different way of eating when work is stressing me out. This is why I see a therapist every week. dvallas 9 Posted January 1, 2017 Is anyone experiencing foamies? I am 3 weeks post surgery. Anytime I eat anything besides yogurt or apple sauce I have way too much salvia that makes me get sick. I am eating very slowly and this happens after 2-3 super small bites. I can't seem to get much in. I also have a tightness in my chest when I eat ( even 2-3 bites) Anyone know how to prevent foamies/ slimies or what the chest pain is about? Happy new year Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Happy new year Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm almost 7 months post of and I still get the slime. The slime becomes worse if something gets stuck. It's your bodies way of helping get your food down. The pain in your chest is food going down hard and or getting stuck. It literally makes my brain hate food. I'd love a big steak, but I just know it'll be painful and more than likely get stuck. The first time I got food stuck, I thought I was going to die. dvallas 9 Posted January 1, 2017 How do you help the food not get stuck? Is there a medicine to take? I totally get not wanting food! It is so weird. Thank you for your response- I feel a bit better! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
