@@TheRev - Well next time I am in CO, I'll have to go see the "budtender" and see what has worked for others.

Oh to be close to a state with recreational... ;)

No carbs, no calories, no need for inhaling burning vegetable matter...no problem in my book.

I picked up some THC Patches for a friend with breast cancer going through chemo...it was the only thing that allowed her to eat and sleep.

But I have yet to find any topical s which helps my GF's knee pain. If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know. (She just had an MRI on the knee and there is no more cartilage there, so she is going to get a participial knee replacement.)

I'm a huge fan of Ethos Muscle Melt (http://ethosinnovates.com/topicals.html).

It's made from bud, not trim, and it's strong enough to help with my knee pain. Over a year ago, I tore my PCL severely. I was on crutches for weeks, and to this day I can't straighten or completely bend my right knee. My orthopedist says the only treatment is exercise- -I need to increase blood flow. However, I'm in tremendous pain whenever I do exercise with any impact. I used to be a runner, but likely will never run again.

Muscle Melt keeps the pain at bay enough so I can exercise.

I also really like Winterlife's Asian Elephant's Orange Tincture. Unlike the muscle cream, it does cause a high, but mostly it relieves pain or nausea and puts me to sleep. If I'm in a great deal of pain, I take a tablespoon or so sublingually, and within half an hour I'm relaxed and ready for bed.

I've been doing weed since three days post op. I was able to use it for pain management and was able to stop my narcotic pain meds that same day.

My only suggestion is don't smoke it, its bad for your lungs and slows healing and can cause ulcers. I bought Water bottles that had the TCH in them. Now that I'm 3 weeks post op I'm just eating these tiny edibles called kushy punch. Great for bariatric stoners :)

How do you go about getting those things?

-Ariannuhh❤️

You need a medical marijuana card, then you can sign up with a delivery service or you can go to a club. I have a family member who owns a delivery service and they won't come out unless you purchase $60 or more.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
