Sleeve vs rny

I've been preparing to have the sleeve now surgeon wants to do RNY. Worried about the complications. Any advice?

most people who've had RNY have no complications or only minor ones (like a stricture). Complication rates are higher with RNY than with VSG, but they're still pretty low.

I had RNY gastric bypass because I had severe acid reflux (GERD) prior to surgery and the sleeve will only make this condition worse. Also RNY gastric bypass is almost a gold standard. It has been around for several decades and they have most of the bugs worked out.

That's the same reason for me and barrett's/ulser . Did you have complications of any kind?

if you have GERD or anything related, I'd go with the RNY. The sleeve often (but not always) makes that worse. I had GERD pre-surgery, which is why I went with the RNY. I didn't want to risk it getting any worse.

I would always tell people never go with the RNY bypass I have had nothing but complication after complication and have spent more time in the hospital then not
