Tomorrow I'll be two weeks out and I'm absolutely exhausted all the time. Mind you I was up late last night election watching but I also took a two hour nap every day this week.

How is everyone doing for energy? I'm going to ask my NUT about adding a small morning coffee or green tea. Has anyone had adverse reactions with either this early on?

My Multivitamin supposedly has the recommended B12 dosage and I try to walk everyday.... may try swimming tomorrow.

I return to work on Monday and am concerned I won't be able to handle it (I work in politics and there are already tons of meetings/strategy sessions scheduled). I'm already mentally and physically drained just thinking about it.

Feel your pain. I felt exactly the same last week (two weeks out yesterday). I added back my one regular cup of coffee per day and I think it helped me. I started to feel more normal. Also I tried to make sure to be hitting at least 500-600 cal/day and 60 G Protein plus Water. I feel better this week. Hope you will too.

It took me a few weeks to get back to feeling myself. Just take it easy, take a break if you need to, have a seat and rest. Your body is the boss, give it what it is asking for. When I hit a wall, I HIT A WALL. For the first 8 weeks or so I was DONE by around 8:00 and I slept like i'd done manual labor all day. Losing weight rapidly is hard work.

I was exhausted for a month after surgery. Your energy will come back but it takes time. Your body has been through a lot.

Take care of yourself and get as much sleep and rest as you can - and don't be afraid to ask for help and say no when you need to.

Good to know coffee was ok! I'm scared of dehydration. I get almost 800 cals/day. Is that too much?

It wasn't until my 4th week post op that I started to feel normal again. I found going outside and sitting in the sun and getting some fresh air really helped me.

Very true. A walk usually helps me feel better.

Thanks. I'm trying. I forgot to mention I have a toddler so I'm extra tired after playing with him all evening after he gets home from daycare.

Yes I plan on several breaks and walking around the building in between meetings. Thanks for the helpful advice.

I don't count it in my water/liquids for the day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
